Subject: Can Someone please explain to me how the new MAO prelims are working?? So its a half and half state which means what ... that some girls will come from winning prelims but some won't , how is that fair?

As I understand it, you can still enter "at large" without doing a local. If you decided to do a local and you win, hopefully it will be an extra opportunity to get more scholarship money, and if you don't win Miss Maine you still keep your local title. The website http://www.missmaine.org/ has not been updated other than to say "Congratulations to Arikka Knights, our new Miss Maine 2010 and Marybeth Noonan, the new Miss Maine's Outstanding Teen!!" and have one photo of each. I've heard rumors that 2011 Miss Maine contestants will need to win prelims to enter and other rumors saying that contestants will still be able to enter at-large. Does anyone have any true info, or do you know who to contact from the Miss Maine organization to find out?

There is a Jr. Teen division of the United States system, not sure on the ages for that. Other than that one, I'd have to say no. Does anyone know about this pageant, and what happened? From the sounds of it ther were MANY contestants each paying a $500 entry fee. Marybeth's 15th birthday was today, what a great birthday gift. Miss Winner-Arikka Knights not sure who runner up was Very shocked Shannon was 3rd runner up. Then 2nd Runner Up was either Maria Skilling or Natasha Knight. Was a bit surprised Berkely Schmidt did not place in top 4. She looked beautiful on stage, and when her mic. stopped working during talent she kept going. The pageant was a great sucess.
