Hey Steve- As you can see from the game results were sure got our asses spanked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"Things" happened, that SHOULDN'T have at the wrong time, and the other team made the BIG PLAYS to win. It was their homecoming and they were fired up! I thought we were too, but when they got the two TD's in the first quarter it started to look like a LONG EVENING to make up ground.
Joel and Sean are taking it bad.
I know they made mistakes, and NOBODY is pointing fingers at them saying they cost us the game. Everyone on the team has to contribute to seek a win, and if a couple of players can't connect on their playing in the game then its the responsibility of the rest of the team to pick things up and STEP-UP!
I know what happened, and I will try to find out over the weekend, but I think Joel's mind was not in the game because he's letting something bother him about serving on this Homecoming Court for some reason. He's usually a level-headed player. I know he's dropped a "few" passes over a few games, but to let THREE happen has him bothered about something to do it one game.
Man I felt sorry for him and Sean, as I know Coach "reemed"them out good, and I know they both knew they had it coming, BUT the rest of us on the team didn't do our parts to help get a win either or we would have won!
Steve, I and the rest of the defense team got slickered into an "offsides" situation, that allowed the opposing team to take advantage and capitalize on and get a first down and then a TD! Coach should have "reemed" our asses to, but didn't for some reason, YET! Probably happen on
Monday.
So Steve, we deserved the SPANKINGS our asses got for the loss!
Joel and I have the weekend together, see if we can "work" on his passes. Maybe we can get Sean over here and get both of them to get some "work" done. I know they want to NOT make same mistakes again in homecoming game. That will be embarassing if that happens.
Speaking of that, it would be great to come back with a win next Friday night!
Nobody has been slacking in practices, so we'll follow Coaches orders and asst. coaches and see what happens.
When Joel and Sean had their "private" meetings with Coach, I couldn't believe some of the guys thinking the two, as long as they were gone each, was getting a paddling. We've NEVER had coaches in all of the years we've played, NEVER done anything like that to a player or players. I don't know what guys were thinking, but our coaches are GREAT and try to treat us with respect and would never ridecule a player and punish them like that! I guess when you want to win bad enough sometimes players minds can think of all kinds of things.
Don't get me wrong, I've had coaches get into my face before, and we know Joel has, but they would never mistreat us. Harsh words for a few minutes, but not show no dignity to a player they would never do. I'm sure you've had coaches like that when you played?
So back to the drawing board or the football field I should say and we'll see what this week brings.
