Well Steve; all I have to say is that after you are done with Kyle, don't put your belt back on right away. I should be next in line after him. (While you are at it if you want to throw in a few extra licks for those cigarettes that my parents found be my guest. Remember that I was around the same age as your kids when that happened.)

True, both were grinning from ear to ear but my gut tells me that, with all due respects, you may have been comparing apples and oranges. As I recall from your account, the day you were to get spanked by Jake's dad, Jake spent almost the entire time between the time you and he got home from school and the time Jake's dad got home from work preparing you for what was going to happen. Could it be that Jake was proud of you for taking those 20 licks from his dad's razor strap? (Remember that you told your mom that you felt you deserved the same punishment Jake got.)

In contrast to Jake, it seems that Kyle was grinning ear to ear not because he was proud of Joel but because he was gloating over Joel's paddling and, given the comments that Kyle and his dad made as Joel was leaving their house and the way Kyle was shooting his mouth off the next two days, as Rush Limbaugh would say, his "gloatometer" was off the charts.
