With respect to your slide into second base, it sounds like you took one for the team, Joel. Other athletes have had to go forward with far worse. I am reminded of Keri Strug's vault during the Women's team gymnastics competition in the 1996 Summer Olympics with a broken ankle. She landed that vault perfectly and the US women won the gold medal.

[Bill to Joel's Dad] I believe Joel's, Kyle's, and Sean's story that they had nothing to do with Cody's and Luke's decision to cut school. The one mistake they made was the white lie they told your neighbor lady when she showed up at your house and I think he realizes that now. I think Joel was punished enough with the first paddling for that. He didn't deserve the second one and you should apologize to him for that.

You have a great kid and I think you should be proud of him. I have only been online with him a short time but I have read the archives and he is well on his way to great things. He is way ahead of me when I was his age. He doesn't smoke, drink, or, to the best of my knowledge, sleep around. Contrast that to my life, my parents found a pack of cigarettes hidden in my room when I was in the second grade. Yes, I tried smoking for the first time when I was only a second grader. Thankfully, the habit didn't stick. YOU NEED TO COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS!!!!!
