We imported our Cinnamon from Scotland to Sweden and she came over by airplane at about 12 weeks.
Breeder bought a Vari Kennel for her, probably about 1-2 sizes about what she actually needed (according to minimum requirements) but it was good because we could use the cage for a little while after she arrived before she grew out of it.
When she did, it was easy to sell as the Vari Kennels are quite popular.

The Vari is not heavy, it is made out of plastic and like Kimberely said, looks a little bit like a large scale cat-crate! Try doing a search for the Vari Kennels, I'm sure they are being sold in most pet shops, at least they are common over here in Europe.
It also folds nicely, you can just unscrew it and stick the top upside down into the bottom bit, takes much less space that way.
We did that on the way home, we had to clean her up as she got a bit stressed during the flight and both pooped and peed in the cage numerous times and was literally covered in it upon arrival, bless.
So we washed her up at the airport in one of their pet-rooms and then she had a designated area at the back of our estate car with blankets and some toys for the few moments she was actually awake during the drive home.

I think it's a LOT easier if you are transporting a pup, if we're talking adult Boerboels... gosh, I dont know, horse-trailer maybe? LOL :-)
