I think the directors hold a lot of influence on the girls that compete. The girls are the biggest part, but I think some of the directors have figured out what works, and whats going to make their girl advanced, and on a side note some of the directors in the miss nh program are not so great..... What kind of support? Every director has a specialty. Some give generous financial support or great fashion advice or a really fun year with lots of appearances or strong social media training or great voice coaching or incredible costuming. I know one of the new girls is having a hard time with her director. No appearances or mocks scheduled, barely any communication, no help with ad sales. and this was while she attended college and gained her master's degree...this program for whatever it offers is a platform for growth...if a director does not offer the support you need, find it within work on yourself...as young women it is possible to gain much form the program without a certain kind of support from director. I think I know who the OP is referencing. This particular girl is a go-getter. She may not be receiving a lot of direction but she certainly isn't letting that shape her image of the program. The Miss NH Directors are volunteers. There are very good directors, good directors and very few ok directors. If the girl does research before she competes then she will choose the right local to compete in. Most want to help the girl become better. These are smart young women. Whether or not their director is helpful all you have to do is ask for help. There are so many people in this program willing to help. Last year my daughter didn't know what she was doing but the parents were very helpful with their guidance. This is a very open group of volunteers and parents who will give advice.
