Subject: Results question

I have a genuine question that my teacher couldn’t answer - why are results at worlds done using one judges results as the starting point instead of going through the numbers numerically? It makes it really hard to follow along because it’s so confusing, or is that the point? I’m sure there’s a reason it’s done this way, would love to know!
