I don't want to dance against 7 dancers my age, I want to dance against 15+...the more the merrier. It's a much better experience if you're fighting for recall/top 5 or 10 or whatever and giving everything to each round. At a local feis I'll still get a better sense of my dancing in bigger comps. Dancing with younger dancers at a local feis is good too as it can take more work to get around them.
