I would be concerned that if a dancer has been preparing for to progress from intermediate to prelim, learns the prelim dances and then progresses from prelim quite quickly, then end up in an even age group where they need a slip jig, Hornpipe and set dance. They are the. At a disadvantage of having to learn 3 new dances to dance open. Where as if open dance were set at reel with Hornpipe and slip jig with heavy jig, every dancer would only need to learn two new dances.
