In reply to: American moved to Ireland. Looking for info. More inside 's message, "CRDM, CRN, WIDA, CRG, UNC, CNRG, OPIDF" on 01:03:39 11/23/25 Sun

CLRG and AC are closed platform - if you open a school with either, you’re limited to doing just their events.
CRDM is the same, you can only do their events unless you’ve dancers over 30. They can dance out, but under that age they can’t. CRDM is also only in Ireland, uk and the USA. Their worlds is at the Scientology centre every year, as are some of their majors.

WIDA, CRG, CNRG, CRN and OPIDF are open platform. Which means they all allow outsiders so to speak to attend their events. You don’t need to be affiliated.

WIDA is the largest open platform organisation and has schools and events across Ireland, UK, mainland Europe and beyond. Their worlds moves around Europe as well. They’re the most adult friendly of all the organisations if you’re wanting to run adult classes as well. They offer teacher and adjudicator examinations and grade exams for dancers.

CRG is limited to Ireland for the most part with one or two uk events and one or two British schools. Very small feiseanna and worlds. Don’t think they offer teacher exam.

OPiDF, is tiny. Only in the UK really and their popularity has plummeted. Very few events and a small worlds. Their teacher exams aren’t worth anything tbh.

CNRG is on the rise in popularity and the newest organisation. They’re only in the UK at the moment but you could join and be the first Irish school and help them expand. They’re adult friendly as well, not on the scale WIDA is but they’re getting better. I don’t believe they offer teacher exams yet.

CRN is also quite popular, a lot of the other open platform organisations actually don’t attend CRN and CRN rarely dances out, despite the fact people can. They’re more traditional and block work is banned. Also offer teacher exams.
