Frank, Just some thougts but are you trying to indicate that the Impala and the Intrepid are much more technologically advanced than the Crown Vic? I would find it hard to argue that they are. In fact, I believe the Crown Vic probably has had more technological advancements than the Impala and Intrepid over the last several years. I agree that the overall concept has been around for many many years but they are definitely a far cry from a Model T. There is some validity to the old saying that if it works great why change it? My observations have been that car manufacturers (assmembly operations really) look to source everything as cheap as possible. They do not appear take into consideration service or durability requirments. My feel is that the Crown Vic is a much more durable car than the direct competition. Of course any vehicle nowadays (if looked after properly) can last a long time; however, I prefer to have one that is proven to be strong and durable. I do not know what myself (and many others) will do if and when Ford ever decides to drop the Crown Vic/Grand Marquis.

PS - Aren't the Intrepids going to rear wheel drive shortly? Maybe old is better in some cases???
