Atumi nods, accepting her pledge without batting an eye. "Good. I will begin now with basic theory, but I'm afraid I cannot show you many techniques today." A full, feral grin curls the black's lips briefly before vanishing, "Tew and I sparred, and my own energy is needed for internal healing. You should never underestimate that tan," he adds in an almost light-hearted voice, sending an amused glare towards the brilliant golden pack second nearby. Tew waves what remains of a coppery tailblade cheerfully, grinning narrow-toothed. Teal-hued eyes close momentarily, the lithe black seeming alternately amused and thoughtful, and then he begins to speak in a low, almost hypnotic voice.

"Everything has energy. Whether it breathes or not, energy suffuses every single natural object, in this world and in others. The air, the sunlight, the darkness and shadows, fire, earth, rocks, plants, trees, beasts, birds, fish, insects, water... it all has its own energy. This energy feels different, unique textures belong to each type of creature. Tans have a finer texture of energy than the other breeds, while whites tend to have a smooth texture, blacks a liquid one, and reds a fiery or rough one. You can become aware of energy simply by paying attention... feeling the blood rush through your veins, the air course through your system, the heat your body generates. The energy-center for a Korat is in your torso, right where your ribwall ends in a place called your solar plexus. That is our storehouse of power. You were born with an exceptionally active, full storehouse. Each Korat's energy cycles with blood and oxygen in their system... just like without blood and without air, without energy we would die."

Atumi pauses, knowing that he's taking a shortcut with these simplified explanations. "Do you understand? Questions?" he asks, obviously open to them. For once, the black is in a generous good mood.
