She was not at the pageant in January when Abbey won Miss America. Often those near death cling to one last thing--person to see or a thing to do---and once its over, the let down of no longer looking forward to it, leads to death. Too bad BeBe could not have survived until next year's pageant for her to see fellow-Minnesotan Miss America Dorothy Benham celebrate her 50th year Miss America 1977 anniversary. She was crowned in Sept. 1976. Now its her and Gretchen (1989) as the only Minnesota MAO winners.
