Her appearance on the Miss America stage last month was the highlight of the pageant for me. I have never ever teared up while watching a pageant until she came out. May she rest in eternal peace. (NT)Mindy Duncan

...Well, quite possibly, the 2025 Miss America pageant to select BeBe's Miss America 2026 successor just might have been the only thing or a major thing that kept her alive and looking forward to attending---back on September 7 in Orlando, Florida. She was not at the pageant in January when Abbey won Miss America. Often those near death cling to one last thing--person to see or a thing to do---and once its over, the let down of no longer looking forward to it, leads to death. Too bad BeBe could not have survived until next year's pageant for her to see fellow-Minnesotan Miss America Dorothy Benham celebrate her 50th year Miss America 1977 anniversary. She was crowned in Sept. 1976. Now its her and Gretchen (1989) as the only Minnesota MAO winners.
