 The National Sweetheart pageant posted this year’s contestants, and there are only around 20. I know TX crowned a Sweetheart winner, but she is not competing. Anyone know why? Were there other state Sweethearts crowned that are not going to nationals? The TX sweetheart competed in TN, did very well, so thought she would be a strong contender at nationals.

[> Subject: Yes Volunteer is still affiliated with Sweetheart. I think money and scheduling challenges sometimes get in the way for gals who qualify for Sweetheart. It’s right at the start of the school year and the contestant often is required to pick up more costs like travel, state costume, etc.
