If a returner fit the criteria that the director wanted, then she would have been chosen. Yes it is a transition but there is nothing "unfair" about this. The state director has ALWAYS had input into the winner whether we like it or not.

Then on finals night if you aren't already in the top 5 in the judges' minds they are only going to score you a 6 or a 7 in every area of competition on Saturday night in order to ensure the top 5 girls they want on the ballot get on the ballot. Composite scoring and top 10 discussion changes everything
