Smiling both in amusement at Tr'ln's description of Latroth and the innate pleasure that always seems to grip dragonriders when discussing their beloved beasts, Talla nods encouragingly at the brownrider as he speaks. His comment about demoting the brown earns him a full snicker. "I've always wondered about that bit of common wisdom anyway," she laughs. "I've noticed that brownriders are usually very dependable, and if they were actually lazy, that wouldn't fit, now, would it?" Her eyes light up even more brightly, however, at the invitation to talk about Mylanith. Though she's not as talkative as her younger brother, neither is she quiet and serious like her older one; in this as in many things, the young woman is an even balance between the two extremes of her family, and if one subject can get her babbling, it's her beloved dragon. "She's very dainty. It's always the first thing people notice," she begins with a laugh. "Careful about where she walks, picky about what she'll eat - only the best herdbeasts for Her Highness! - and very proud. Some people would say stuck-up, I guess," she adds, wrinkling her nose, "but she's not spoiled. I'm careful about that. I've heard about queenriders spoiling their dragons, and ending up with small clutches and ruined Weyrs because of it." Talla shudders. "Not that I'm a Weyrwoman, but, you know, we might have another Weyr again someday, and it's nice to dream. But yes, she's vain. Thinks she's the prettiest dragon in the world, not that I'd disagree, and claims that the only reason Shrineth gets to run things is because humans are unfairly age-biased." She can't help laughing again at her dragon's arrogance. "Personally, I wouldn't want to run things, and I don't think she does either, but she thinks she has to sound bossy, you know? She's convinced that all the younger bronzes are hers, the ones from her clutch I mean, and I think she resents that so many of them are chasing Shrineth, even if she helped order them too. Then again, she thinks all her clutchmates are sort of hers before Shrineth's, if that makes any sense, browns and blues and greens along with the bronzes. I keep reminding her she's young, and we're only a junior pair, so concievably a few big browns might be able to fly her if not enough bronzes are around when that happens, but she keeps claiming that no brown will be able to catch her. I think she'll be thinking differently when the time comes, but that won't be for a while yet, and it's easier to let her keep her pride." The young queenrider's eyes sparkle with mischief and amusement at the tacit implication that Latroth might someday end up trying for Mylanith's favor. "But really, she's very arrogant and very bossy." There's no censure in her voice for the dragon's faults, not with the deep love she feels for the gold overriding any perception that they might be faults. Oh, she knows that others sometimes see them that way, and she's careful to keep Mylanith in check so they won't be criticized, but she's long accepted and fallen in love with her dragon's personality, flaws and all.
