Shadow wasn�t one for pity, and was glad she�d held it back. [I didn�t know them well, though. It was my half-sister I liked. My mother abandoned me when I was young, and my step-father was, well� different. I just wish Angelline could�ve been spared.]

Shadow shrugged. [Yeah, I know a lot �bout riders. Living with my mom and stepdad, if only for a while, allowed me life in a Weyr. Though, I don�t know if I�ll stand for the next clutch. Not sure if I�m really ready anyway, and then look how we all reacted to K�rea. Shrineth should be in heat soon, though, so I�ll have to decide quickly.] He paused. [What about you? Ever thought of being a Rider?] If she wants to stand, I will. The thought surprised him, but he pushed it aside.
