“You wimp! I’m not serious.” S’peer looked at G’rein with amused affection.

“I am. So no touching. Nope. Nada.”

The bluerider sighed, reaching for one of the jugs already on the table. “Oh, woe is me…ah! The blue one is water…” He put it back and reached for one of the others. “This one is wine…and this one has juice!” He poured himself a cupful of the sweet liquid. “What do you want?”

“Can I drink in front of you?”

S’peer put the other jug, and a cup, in front of his friend. “Go ahead. Maybe then…”

He received a half-hearted kick for his efforts, and the two laughed. The drudge delivered their food, smiling to herself at S’peer’s wink, and left.

“S’peer, you’ll flirt with anything, won’t you?”

Grabbing a meatroll, the older man shrugged. “I do have some standards!”

G’rein picked up a slice of wherry. “Not that they’re very high…X’thrall! How are you? And this is S’peer, one of my oldest and best friends – S’peer, this is my weyrmate, X’thrall.”

With a cheerful smile and nod to the younger bluerider, S’peer switched seats so he was opposite G’rein. “You two sit together. And it’s great to meet you at last, X’thrall!” He offered his hand.

S’peer couldn’t help noticing that G’rein hadn’t mentioned their previous – and multiple – relationships. He had only been messing around before; he wasn’t going to do anything to hurt G’rein, was he? The bluerider could keep his hands to himself…for a while.

((Hehe. You want flirting? Then flirting you shall have, next time X’thrall’s back is (to their knowledge, at least) turned…))
