b>But if I didn't say it,

S'peer's near-black eyes darkened with rage when T'rtatus spoke, and he clenched his fists, evey muscle in his body tensing for a fight. "Don't you ever, ever, compare me to that monster." He hissed through clenched teeth, forcing himself not to punch the brownrider there and then. How could he be compared to K'mir? The thought made him feel ill. That...child-molester.

Even if S'peer had raped Halzay in a flight, he and K'mir had one, massive difference.

K'mir had enjoyed it. And done it again.

Well - I'd still have felt it.

"You may outrank me, brownrider, but don't think for a moment that you can insult me like that." He swallowed hard, lowering his gaze finally. He didn't want to seem too hostile in front of Halzay - it might make her more nervous than she was, if that were possible. "So I'll say it again. All I want is for you to trust me enough to be a part of my child's life. Please." S'peer looked, not for the first time in his life, as if he were close to begging.

Where's the sense in that?
