Yeah, that was me yesterday. I lost my cool with my hubby. He warned me I was going to get a spanking and I just kept going. So soon enough, there I was naked, bent over the bed while be paddled my bottom. Our usual corner time post spanking is 20 minutes, but because he was disappointed with my actions, I spent 40 minutes in the corner post spanking. Even this morning as I drink my coffee, my bottom is so sore and tender. I have a few bruises. Guess I won’t be sitting much today! Depending on how problematic the behavior is, you might try banning being spanked for it. See if that "works in reverse." From what you said, I don't think that you need it harder or with more certainty or with a more biting implement. One thing you could try is just accepting all aspects of the situation. Dear Mindy, it's an interesting question whether this is actually the case. The equation “stubborn head = sore bottom” is so simple that I had already internalized it as a very young girl. Of course, with age comes the ability to correctly assess consequences. It becomes easier to resist strong temptations because you can better weigh them against the consequences. But whenever I was disobedient as a girl, I knew very well what it would mean for my rear end if I got caught. I don't want to contradict you, I'm just pondering... Yes, the short circuits... you'll probably never get rid of them completely. And then you're lucky if there's someone there who can restart things with empathy, but also with strictness if necessary. I was lucky enough to have that. First my father, who was perhaps more strict than empathetic, and then my husband for over 45 years.
