I had a friend who wanted me to get it from his mother since he was convinced that I had never had a proper or real one. His mom liked to use the rubber flap with holes and fringe at the edges fly swatter. She was once waving it around and I made some sort of dismissive comment and she responded quite authoritatively assuring me that the fly swatter "stings like the Dickens." As a more or less joke, she offered to show me. I very politely declined having heard about it from my friend. It was his sister who was in danger of getting it that night.

I remember my friend warning me that his mom would just spank me and asking if my mother would object, after the fact! She wouldn't have objected but she had the "Send home and let the parents handle it" approach, also.

I kind of think admitting to a pants downer was hard. I remember another good friend saying that his dad spanked him with only his hand and that it was worse than the belt. I kind of think in retrospect this was a way of hinting that his hand spanking was bare bottom.

Only three send-homes with four children is quite a good track record. Growing up, did you get it away from home or get sent home? I never did but I was very aware that I could have. Also, did you get the impression that the spankings the boys got were harder than the ones the girls experienced? Does your son claim that his are worse?
