Yes, it is the same guy except he plays conventionally. I saw him in a few Buy.com tournaments this past season on TV.
I have no idea why he did the NG imfomercial. Perhaps he tried NG as an experiment but there is definitely no single-axis in his setup at all. Is Lyle actually using NG? I haven't seen him at all this year.
