Subject: What parts of our society do we reject.

I noticed a few comments on the last board about the tsunami and the rapes that happened afterwords. Someone said that we can not apply this to the whole population. What parts of Melanesian society can we apply to the whole country. Can we pick and choose? Are we savages or saints? We have qualities of both but can we only claim to be the one and not the other?

I don't think we can pick and choose. I think we need to accept who we are or we will become like the educated idiot on the last board who said he would like to do all manner of savage things. This man is the cream of PNG's crop yet he can revert so easily to the savage.

It seems we can take the kanaka out out of the bush but can we take the kanaka out of the man?
