Tony's argument is that there is no accounting due. He is right because the association has no members. He has satisfied his obligations to his sponsors, and refused to budge when it came down to personal attacks from anonymous people on the internet, none of whom attended the Convention.

For your information, Tony Smare has repeatedly told people that he is not interested in political office, he is currently earning top dollar from Australia's top lawfirm (six figures in kina)with the likelihood that he will probably be made a partner in 6 years and be earning seven fugures.

As for his investment in his education, I think his parents are more than happy with their son becoming the first person from the South Pacific to hold degrees in geology and law. I think the people of Aitape are happy after Tony raised over three hundred thousand dollars of money and donations in kind for the Aitape tsunami while still at university. And I think the PNG Government is happy after Tony hosted Mekere Morauta's first business address to the Australian business CEO's in Brisbane last year.

PNG would be very fortunate if Tony decided to come back and run for politics. But it would have to be a very good argument to make him sacrifice all that he would achieve outside of PNG. My thoughts are that Tony won't run, and if he does it will be as a result of pressure from his community and his family. He holds many of those in government in contempt, and I would doubt that he would consider running to join them.

Tingting from someone who knows the man.
