Thought your role is to put to use the knowledge and apply the skill when you return home. Your contribution is useful if put to use rather then forever making comparison with the developed countries, or feeling inadequate about yourselves. Why bother getting an oversseas training in the first place if you can't use it.

As for the choice of qualified and productive captains of business and state agencies,until we come to our senses and get politicians to keep out of management decsions and or stop the beggars who peddle parliment for appointment to leadership positions, we will continue to be saddled with incompetent layabouts in the execuitve posts.

This wretched nation can do more if we decide to make a difference. One model country is Chile which has been able to get out of the abyss of economic despair through the decisive action of the so called "Chicago Gang". Perhaps we who are in dialogue in this forum could be the beginning,through deliberate recruitment of people with the same mind set into the public service, we can get steer the course of "MV PNG" away from despair. A current cohort of academics studying at overseas universities and others employed by foreign countries should seriously consider this approach. I stand to be counted, how about you?
