A big Oklahoma howdy to all. My post is in reference to my
favorite artist, Buddy Holly and my favorite song, True Love
Ways. Buddy of course died in the 50s but the TLW song wasn't
released until 1960.
Buddy in my opinion laid the foundation and provided the blue
print for most of the great British groups that dominated the
air waves for most of the 60s decade.
As americans, we vaguely made a connection to the British
music invasion and our own rock and roll heritage.
Holly was dead and in the rearview mirror, Elvis was in the
army, Jerry Lee was in exile, Chuck Berry was writing tunes
from a jail cell. So I say thank goodness for the British
and Aussie groups that filled the void with some of the
finest songs the world has ever known.
I am happy to be on the board and if I am not right at least
I'll always think I was. LOL Long live 60's music.
