Seems that Lanier has gotten players of the caliber we don't normally get in Albany, in other words, he's stepped our recruiting above where its ever been. This years freshman class is clear evidence of that and the potential that next year's class brings is also very promising

Not a leap of faith to say that he might have been able to accomplish the same thing at SBU had he been given the job.

VBK isn't getting the players in a tough place to recruit, and his coaching style may win him games in the short term, but it will be a long slow spiral back to 9-19 for SBU
