Dear Justin,

Is that character before the 19 a minus sign? Oh, dear god! I assume that's fahrenheit, so it's not as bad as -28C, but still, I can't imagine even opening the door, let alone stepping outside at that temperature. How do you manage? I assume you used a thermometer and didn't count cricket chirps to get that figure, or did you do the sensible thing and call up the weather channel on the net? Our thermometer doesn't even go that low - the alcohol would freeze (vodka freezes at -17F). I'll stay here in SoCal where it's noon and +68 degrees F. I'll even willingly mow the lawn rather than shovel snow - do you get that chore? Which reminds me, I have to mow today so I better get to it. I'm going to wear a jacket - don't laugh!

-Jerry
