I was always spanked bare bottom, except if other people were around. One time at my grandparent's house during some kind of party, my mom gave me an impromptu spanking. She just kind of held me against her side and gave me 20-30 swats over my clothes. One other time she gave me some extra vigorous swats during my birthday spanking, because she was annoyed with me. Aside from those, it was always in private and bare. As for why she chose bare bottom, I honestly have no idea. Maybe because that was how she got it? That was the way it was, and it would have never occurred to me to ask to keep my panties on. I'm quite sure such a request would have fallen on deaf ears, lol. Yes, it was definitely embarrassing, especially my last one at ten, because I was old enough to be body shy. But I never thought of the embarrassment as something special or extra. It was just part of the whole spanking experience. As for who did the baring, I think my mom must have when I was very little. I do have a hazy memory of her telling me to pull down my pants and bend over her knee, so she must have switched to having me do it at some point. It was a moot point with my last one, because I was in a nightgown, having just gotten out of the bath. She just pulled me over her knee, flipped up my nightie and started spanking before I even realized what was happening.
