I definitely got paddled a few times at twelve, possibly once right around my thirteenth birthday. The reason I remember that so specifically is probably a bit odd.

At the time (early 1980s), I was in middle school, and that was when they began to make mandatory nude showers after PE class. Occasionally during showers in both sixth and seventh grades there were a few other boys who had feint, but no-doubt spanking marks. They were of course teased mercilessly, including after PE in classrooms where girls were present. I always dreaded the same thing. I never recalled my dad's paddle bruising me, but there were a few times when darker red spots were still visible the morning after a bare butt paddling. Somehow, that last year and a half or so of my spankings, I was lucky and always managed to avoid getting one with redness that lasted until my next school shower. I definitely recall a couple other kids who had spanking marks in eight grade, which would have been ages 13-14, but never after that in high school.

My interest in spanking started in my mid twenties when I was dating a woman a couple years younger, and who grew up in the next nearest town. She similarly was spanked through age twelve and in middle school. She also knew of other girls who got it until about that age, and (though rare) there were girls who had lingering spanking marks in hhe school shower as well.
