A life time of understanding and reflection and real world experiences have shifted be back and forth on this. I understand exactly what is a beating and abuse as Gary has written. I experienced rather hate filled or somewhat unhinged physical punishments that created hate.

I too was that type of boy who refused to wake up, understand, clear his head. Words did not work! Understand, all that fluffy modern rainbow parenting would not work!!

Nobody and I mean NOBODY can tell me how it worked on me, for me. In all this life reflections and observations I can say, myself, which my word actually has value, that spankings I received in the way it was applied was what I needed.

It is not a foreign concept that people respond to pain. Some types of people, words do not work, nothing works on them, they only respond to pain. I know....I know these words are abrasive and set people off, these are powerful words, but understand, it is true!

Being pro spank as I am does not mean that I encourage beatings. I do not. What I know is what I see and experience and there are a lot..A LOT of children in need of a good long hard bare assed spanking. Repeated!

My experiences growing up were both ways, it is in this that I understanding the difference between beating and a good sound spanking. So before I explain how I was spanked I don't want to hear you antis cry and go on, just shut the hell up and let people explain! Besides no amount of explaining to them will do any good anyway.
