Subject: Help me with this, please.

I’m writing this from scratch, again, I’ve posted these ideas before, on several forums, and
received little response. This thing stays on my mind because, for me, it serves as the most
potent example of what this new environment means. Knowledge is power, old cliché I know, but
never really true until now.

Biological warfare. All the physical stuff you need to kill massive numbers of people can be
purchased locally with no problem. Knowledge is all you need to be capable of killing as many
people as can be killed with a nuke. And if you know enough, you can design the bio-bomb to
target a specific biological cohort.

I’m not sure that this is true. I don’t even recall what I read that got me thinking on this. But,
if it is true then the power to destroy, that was a monopoly of the state, is now within the reach of
a rapidly increasing number of individuals. Just regular folks, with knowledge, are becoming
very, very dangerous.

Am I wrong about this ?

Please tell me if you think I am, I don’t know enough to argue with you.

Am I right ?

If even most folks were libertarian I would see this massive empowerment of individuals as a
very positive thing. I tend to think is a very positive thing anyway, but it scares me, when I let
myself think about it. How can we prepare for just any ole Joe Blow going postal at that scale ?

What do you think ?

AM
