CHAPTER 6
A lark sang outside the abbey gates, the only creatures to hear it were Aubbress, Revin, and the Abbot. They had stayed up all night, planning what they would do the following day. Revin yawned, and turned to Aubbress. "Well, what are we going to do first? Eat breakfast, or take a long nap?" Aubbress's eyelids were drooping, as she replied.
"We will take a nap first, and hopefully wake up in time for supper. What do you say, Father Abbot?" Revin held a claw to his lips. "Shhhh, he's already asleep!" Aubbress and Revin gently picked up the old mouse and carried him to his bed. Then they went, yawning all the way, to their own beds.

Chrassneyah bunched up her coils in pleasure, the Abbey was in sight!
She had come, to haunt everybeast, in or out of Redwall.
She had come, to rule with a poisoned fang.
She had come, and her long journey at last was ended!!

Diviniah was having a hard time keeping the dibbuns in control, each one of them was certain that if they went to the walltops, they would see 'something'. The badger mother could not translate what they had said they would see, but she knew they all wanted to see it, finally she roared,
"QUIET!! QUIET!! Who told that you would see 'something' from up there?" All the dibbuns answered her in perfect unison. "Mawtin da Wawwia!!!" The young badger shook her head, "What have you been told about lying to your elders?" A small shrew spoke up, "But we no' lyin' Muvva Divinah! We be tellin' da twuth!!" Diviniah frowned, but finally she gave in. "Alright, I'll take you to the walltops, just don't
fall off!!" The dibbuns knew that since she didn't believe them, that they had to be very polite. So they quietly walked single file, up the steps to the ramparts. When they arrived, all the dibbuns tall enough to see over the edge, gasped, "Muvva, Muvva, cum 'ere qwick!!!" As Diviniah looked down, she caught her breath. On the side of the path,
almost completly hidden by grass, was a huge adder!!!"
