Akisran ran through the abbey, snatching anything shiny she could lay her paws on, and stuffing them in a sack made of fresh linen bed sheets. She then stopped and pondered for a few moments, then, oddly enough, began replacing all the stolen items carefully back on shelves and countertops. She smiled wickedly and quickly put on a humble face as Friar Hiddles entered the kitchens, her last stopping place. “Please sir…My young ‘un an I ‘aven’t ‘ad any food t’day…” The friar narrowed his eyes and pinched her stomach, which was far from thin. He then sniffed her breath, turned his head away, and pushed her from him in disgust. “I’d say ye’ve had enough food t’ last ye fer four seasons! Get out o’ my sights, vermin.” Akisran growled, and seeing she’d been caught, brandished a candle stick at him. “Stay out o’ me way,” she threatened, “or ye’ll get a good look at me bad side.” He drew back in horror, and screeched at the top of his lungs. “Vermin! Vermin! She’s threatening me, Mother Abbess!” Akisran blew out a quick rush of air through her snout in annoyance, and with one blow, silenced the friar forever.
