I'm going to try a poem, (I'm not sure it will be all that good but....oh well. It's from the perspective of a blind beast.)

The Blindness of the Eyes

The blindness of a beast
can be truly shown.
For what are crystals to them?
Just something that's known.

Diamonds, emeralds, sapphires, jewels.
what are they? Just things to feel.
Sure they are of value, but what to buy?
Not as good as the simple meal.

For even those who have the sight,
can be as blind as the darkness of night.
Who can tell what's of value, what's worthless?
Only those who have even less.

For these things sometimes bring false hope,
to those who value them above all.
For they are things of which to look,
things to sell. But not as good as the simple
ringing of a bell.
