Jadepaw sat by the fire and mused unhappily. She thought for a while until finally she called in her mole friend. "Soilyburr! Cum ee in pleez!" She called out in mole speach. A large female mole waddled in by the fireplace. She wiped her digging claws on the floppy white apron that seh was wearing. "Yoom called fer moiself missus?" She asked. Jadepaw nodded. "Soilyburr, yoom 'n' oi must gome down to ee Noonvaler. Theym bees needin' our 'elp!" She replied. She fell into her normal speach. "Noonvale is under attack by a hord of foxes and rats. Their leader is none other than Darkfang, the one and only." Soilyburrs beady black eyes went wide with astonishment. "Yoom means dat red foxxer wid da purply stroipes? Well, if Noonvaler bees unner tacks, oi'll bees da furs ta 'elp em!" She said triumphantly. Jadepaw smiled. From the stairway, Rosi watched her aunt pat Soilyburrs digging claws, and shoulder a bow. The mole picked up a ladle and wrapped a shawl around her friends shoulders. Rosi heard Jadepaw mutter to Soilyburr, "What about Rosi? We can't leave her here alone." With that, Rosi jumped down from the stairs and cried out, "That's right! I'm coming with you!" She dashed upstairs again before they had time to reply, and was back in a flash with a small dagger in her paw.
