AN: One of my personal favorites, up there with Bittersweet Truth. Check it out. (And it's my tenth poem, too. ^__^)
Understand Me
Lie to me; tell me everything will be alright,
And that pain is a mere accident of life.
Comfort me; tell me meaningless sentiments
In hope that they will one day come true.
Help me; give me that shoulder to lean on,
And to soak with my tears of pain and joy.
Cherish me; give me that true sense of caring,
That people should have, but are without.
Look at me, because I want to be worthwhile
Of someone's gaze: no contempt, no pity.
Forgive me, because I have caused much pain
To myself and others, and I have sinned.
Watch with me as the sun rises, only to fall;
When time passes, will these tears dry too?
Listen to me, as I have internal wounds
Of hurts, blended into a bitter mix of pain.
Pray with me, that there might still be kindness
In this barren world of deceit and ignorance.
Understand me, that my life is nothing, but everything,
And I travel on a endless, muddied path of toil.
