Hidden (also entitled: Paint a Portrait)

Paint a portrait of the girl,
Whose smile is vacant as sky,
As she sits next to the window,
Staring into hopeless dreams.

Paint a portrait of the boy,
Who keeps a contented face.
And inside, the smile is faint,
And echos of infinite sadness.

Paint a portrait of the girl,
Who fights to keep a bitter glare,
As she drowns into the silence of night,
Hiding behind her defense walls.

Paint a portrait of the boy,
Who smiles and laughs cheerily,
Ignoring the hurt others bring,
As he nods and lets life move on.

Paint a portrait of the truth,
Of the feeling and dept inside,
That is veiled by face expression,
And hidden by external masks.
