's message, "A new story, I will try to continue my others soon. ^__^" on 18:06:22 10/16/02 Wed
He woke early in the morning and he was still in the shack.
It was still dark out and his friends were still asleep.
He then knew that this was one world that he probably couldn't return from, I mean the odds are high enough for someone going to a different world, but going back!? that's probably even harder, seeing as there are well... billions of different worlds.
Those thoughts were going around in his mind as he turned on his computer and opened up a program that could be used to tell what constellations were in the sky that night.
Authors note: I actually had a program like that, which would on that day show what the sky would look like in my area and what constellations could be shown, It was internet free as well.
He then slowly tiptoed outside, without waking the others, and looked up in the night sky, he didn't recognise the constellations at all! well since he was in a different area, then his hometown, but he knew at least he should see the north star, but that wasn't there either. the stars were all cluttered up and he didn't recognise any constellations at all...
'Night gazing are you?'
He yelped and turned around and Lorby was standing there watching him.
'I've seen you walk out, and turn on that weird device, what would that be?'
Cody was kinda embarrased and showed him that his 'device' could show the stars, and not only that but communicate with people all over the world, play songs and music, play games, and paint, calculate math, show the time.
The otter looked at it and was astonized! as rubbed the little ball on the base and the cursor would move on the screen.
He was amazed at this, and he watched as Cody opened up a word program and start typing at a fast speed.
He was lost for words!
'Yo...you... you can do that!? that's impossible! what does that thing run on!?'
'Batteries.'
'Ah...wha...!'
'Sorry, I didn't want to tell you for well... you know because it seemed like I was thrown back into the middle ages and people back then who saw things like this would no doubt assume it as witchcraft and burn me at the stake... But it isn't you have to believe me! it's totally logical!! but since you already saw it, I guess I should just as well tell you so burn me if you must!
'Wha... ga....'
The boy looked up at the otter who seemed to have looked like he was paralysed from top to bottom.
'I'm sorry Lorby... I didn't want you to burned me....'
'Ba... Ga...'
He suddenly came around...
'Burn you? It's amazing, why would I want burn someone who owns something as amazing as this thing! you must have a very smart civilisation!'
Cody told him that it runs on batteries and electricity, in which he told him that lightning is...
'Wow the creatures at redwall will love this! but please close it off because I think if I look at it any longer I am going to faint... never had I seen anything as interesting and useful as this!'
Cody told him that once his battery goes dead he can't use it anymore so he turned it off...
he told the otter he will use it to write in his
diary, and that's about it so if he ever gets back home he'll have something to publish into a book.
The otter said likewise about if he ever went to his world, but heknew he would never want to go to his world for the human talked of that machine as if it wasn't really anything.
so he didn't want to know what better things would be around probably just the sight of his world would make him die of shock. but he sadly couldn't picture that place though... he didn't really want to.
'I'll take you to redwall once the day comes up, and maybe it would be best if you didn't tell the redwallers about that thing, it would be better off that way'
Cody agreed and they watched the sun rise and it was beautiful.
