my dear lord byron, this is probably up to us to figure out, very doubtful anyone is interested. let us just decide what kind of reincarnation we think is most sensible and go from there, agreed?

the hindu site is great. let me see if i have this clear. going from the premise of an immortal soul (or equivalent) and leaving out the factor of god and or "godhead" for the moment:

either (very simply):

1) due to the inherent cyclic nature of all things the soul comes back over and over and reinhabits a physical form (leave out whether or not it is a bug for now, ok) (no purpose)

or

2) due to karma the soul comes back to (? attain a state of samsara or whatever allows it to end the cycle) (purpose)



both items 1 and 2 have further complications but i think i have knocked it down the the simplest factor, what do you think? can you add to this?
