it's a beautiful day! i have that U2 song stuck in my head, not that i mind! :0)

good luck with your dsl, medeis! i know that when we got cable things were hunky dory for a while, but on battle.net (playing D2 online) i got such crappy connections and awful lag time for a while.

if you even entertain the idea of buying a new computer don't go Gateway!. especially if you're planning on playing any pc games on it. go Dell or HP. seriously! and i know that 164 bits is less expensive than 264, but with 264 you know that you'll have no worries for a long time. as for processors, anything over 1 gig is best. computers were meant for speed and accuracy, and for a lot of the programs nowadays they say they can run on lower RAM but for some reason do not work at their full potential with anything less than 264. you'll get choppy motion and moments of lag, and having that when you're not even online for other internet users to interfere with your connection is bad. same goes for the gig hard drive. you won't get nearly the speed you deserve with anything less than 1 gig. the way things are advancing nowadays pretty soon most of the programs out there will require those specs.

and if you're planning on gaming on your pc, go with a 64 bit graphics card, preferably a voodoo (i forget at the moment the name of the company that bought out voodoo) or a turtle beach. anything less and your picture won't be clean, and any animations will be a lower quality. they might even freeze up or lag.

of course, if you're not going to game then 164 bits, slower than 1 gig, and a 32 bit graphics card are entirely all right. even more than enough for your needs. don't be like us: my mate and i bought a brand new computer specifically tailored to give us the best D2 gaming experience. yes, we bought a computer just to play a game! lol

peace out
