The Jews v poor thing. Their holy temple in Jerusalem had been destroyed n rebuilt, destroyed n rebuilt (by Romans, Egyptians n dunno who) until nw i dunno if still standing there. The term Jews does not equate believers of Judaism. Jews is more like an ethnic identity. Jews are always in exile from their homeland (but the book i was reading at home din mention where their homeland was) This is why u can find Jews scattered all over. The thing about Jerusalem is that it is considered a holy city by three main religions: Christianity, Judaism n Islam. Jews r also persecuted by Christians n Arabs n Muslims. CHristians: Jews claimed to b the chosen people by GOD n Christians r buay song abt this. Jews r also seen as the one who caused the death of Jesus (weird argument cos Jesus was supposed to die for our sins wat) Arabs: mostly political conflict Nazi: Hitler saw the Jews as racial enemies. (though i dunno why Hitler wanted to focus on the Jews out of so many races) Russia: Although many of Russia's revolutionary leaders were Jews, they were opposive to traditional Jewish culture n beliefs.
