I got an email from fellow MXP, CTM, who was there. She doesn't have much time to post here so I hope it's ok if I relay her comments. She said DD really was ticked off about the coffee interruption and some of his comments were edited from the broadcast. If you watch carefully you can notice the little edit.

I think that put him in a bit of a bad mood. I also think he was tired from all the press he's been cramming in. Normally DD does great on Letterman and I think he's a big fan. We've seen him even help DL out in several skits.
I'm also a huge DL fan, btw the way. His wit reminds me a lot of DD's brand of humor.

On his fan coments, I was wondering if he might be more�aware of all the hatred he gets from so called fans (check out the Fox board)and was possibly playing into and mocking that. He's very smart and very shrewd and may be more in tune with his fan base and what is said about him (much of which is awfully mean) than we know.Too bad he doesn't know most of his real fans are over here!
