...didn't Mulder's Mom just say in this last ep that she hoped Mulder would "someday" understand why she did some things earlier on?

I guess I stand firm in believing that Mrs. Mulder has been conveying an "angst-ridden" person from square one, whatever her reasons, and who are we to judge whether or not her resulting mistreatment of Mulder were justified or not?

To me...she brings "reality" to the show...someone who has had issues to deal with, and wasn't able to come through them "smelling like a rose". It seems to me, that we are used to seeing the main XF characters working through all their issues, and moving on. Well, that doesn't always happen in real life, IMHO.

I am not defending her (although, I am sure it sounds like it!), I am just trying to understand her. She DID treat Mulder badly, but he never seemed to want to lash out at her for it, so maybe he understood something we don't.

Well, that's enough from me, I guess...I will watch to read the "counter punches" from you all about Mrs. Mulder!!
