I agree Scully was just being there for Mulder and letting him deal with things the way he needed to. I'm sure she thought he shouldn't even be on the case at all but she knows after all this time she can't stop him when he's determined to do something.

I think so too on the criticism. She will tell him what she thinks to his face but sill defend him to the hilt to anyone else. I think she's always been that way. Like a mother protecting her cub. :-)

As for Mrs. Mulder, well if she wanted to cling to Mulder why didn't she spend more time with him? It doesn't even look like she invited him for Christmas the year he talked Scully into going to the haunted house. And then we see her talking to CSM and letting him take her son out of the hospital to some strange place. Why didn't she take him herself to her own home?

I have litrle sympathy for Teena either! She's treated her son terribly over the years and I don't care if she'd been strong armed by the consortium and couldn't do anything about it. She could have told Mulder the truth from the beginning! (Then i guess we wouldn't have had a show would we? ;-) )
