Hi Devlin,

Sorry to leave you here all alone. We've been all a buzz about the latest season 8 episode which was a cliffhanger and now we have to wait a whole month until we see the next part! Funnily enough there was a reference to something in Closure in the ep we just had.

Oh boy. Closure. This was that ep I emailed you about right after saying it was one of the best ever. Well so manypeople hated it with a passion I thought maybe I'd gotten it all wrong. But many people loved it too. This was a nasty one for debating!

I also was extremely upset by this in a way I'd never been before. Do you remember some of us talking about episodes that made us cry and I said I'd never cried at any of them? Well I sure sobbed in this! SMH ended her no crying streak with this one too. And for me, it was DD's fault. He really got to me in that diary scene. That was so good wasn't it? I was just tearing up a bit then but when I saw that reunion scene I was a mess and couldn't stop crying long after it was over! And I felt really sad for several days. Pathetic, huh?

I was just so shaken by the idea that Mulder wasn't going to get to see Sam all grown up. No happy ending and it was hard. But at the same time this did fit to leave her in the past. And it was so wonderful to ge a glimpse of Sam's fortitude. She was like her brother. And he was so proud of her. Bvut it's sad that she and Scully could never meet and Scully doesn't even believe that Mulder experienced what he did. So as you say, it's ironic because the closure feels unresolved.

I have never watched that end scene where Mulder sees Sam a second time. I wasn't able too!

Well enough of my blubbering story. Onto your comments.

It's interesting, the clone issue here. Mulder, at one point, wanted to adopt the little Sam clone from Herrenvolk even though he knew it wasn't her. I don't think he felt as kindly toward the adult Sams. Remember they made him mad for deceiving him. What's strange is that now, people are talking about cloning as a reality and I don't think a clone is the true original no matter what they say. A very scary subject IMO.

I was ticked at Mrs. M burning the photos too. What was the point of that? She should know Mulder would want them. I'm still wondering what her real story is.

Great assessment of this episode dev. It was uneven and puzzling at times with the prevbious SantaClaus storyline. That seemed to just be largely a red herring to get us to the Sam story. And what do you think of Jeffrey having lived with Samantha at one point?

Well it's good to see you back in commission. :-) I though maybe Closure had upset you and that's why you hadn't posted yet!
