I agree with you all that WBD has a very good grasp and understanding of the MSR and the way they might act and react to these particular circumstances. I was still rather confused about what CSM was playing at: it seemed that the scientist was the target, and CSM seemed bent on killing him, and stealing his cancer research. He used Scully, we found out by setting her up and falsely inventing a communication between her and the medical researcher. Why did CSM throw away this vital cancer cure evidence? If anything, he should have held the information hostage, as a bargaining tool, for the future - instead he chose to destroy it. I wondered if he was perhaps saying "If I have to die through lack of a cure, so can the rest of mankind". But this explanation doesn't really ring true....
