Subject: Hi Devlin and Sig! Well at least...

I don't have to keep Fowley's death a secret anymore! Whew! Or had that info already slipped out to you?

Sig you are right about The Last Temptation of Christ. And it was all David Duchovny's idea. He cowrote Amor Fati and did say he based the story on that film. I've never seen it. I thought Mulder's dream was more like the film It's a Wonderful Life. So to give my opinion on Devin's question, I think all of the dream stuff was Mulder getting a look at his life if he had chosen another path. According to Fowley, who I think was trying to convince him he belonged with her, Mulder's life could be much simpler and nicer if he wasn't on The X-files and in turn, wasn't with Scully. The last scene with M&S has him realizing where he belongs and that he does have a pretty good life with the person he cares about the most. I think it represented a monumental turning point for both Mulder and Scully. It was never about Fowley. I still don't like her even though they tried to redeem her in the end! And I wonder if she was sincere when she said she loved him.

Also, that scene in the doorway ("you are my touchstone" was also DD's handiwork). It was a rewrite for another scene that was said to be cheating the fans as reports go and DD wrote this much more emotionally charged scene. The alternate scene has neen posted online. DD's idea was much better. I don't know if "World's longest forehead kiss" was in the script though!

I do think the CSM was controlling Mulder's dream but
I like Sig's idea that Mulder filled in the blanks. But what about his revelation that he is Mulder's father? Do you think that's true or was it just more of CSM's mind games? Or was it just part of Mulder's own subconscious because of his doubts about his parentage (assuggested in Demons in season 4).

Dev I agree it was Krycek who called Fowley! He's a rat.

There's been lots of speculation on who the boy on the beach is. I had thought it was Mulder as a child too and the destruction of the sand castle represented his own mistakes. But some also feel it could represent his son.

And how great was it to see Albert Hosteen! And Deep Throat!
