I hope no one minds that! It's no fun if we all think alike.

Dev I think it's great to have several difertent threads on a board going at once so don't worry about waiting to post new reviews. But thanks for getting this posted. :-)

I was wondering how this woud sit with all of you. It's certainly meatier than the last couple lite eps. I had big problems with it though. Sig brought up one aspect which was treating Donnie like he was a supernatural being. He was much more chilling when we thought of him as a REAL monster. I'd prefertey'd left it that way. Does every ep have to have a paranormal aspect?

I also had major problems with the whole Orison story and frankly I could have done without it. It seemed as if they were trying to tell two stories and it was a bit much. I'd have preferred if they'd just focused on Donnie. I thought that things such as the song running through and the 666 clock were too contrived. They were forcing the issue of Donnie as the devil. Again he was scary enough as just a man. I even thought DD and GA's performances seemed off at times. The whole Orison aspect just seemed forced to me.

But I'll tell you what I liked. ;-) I loved the last segment with Scully shooting Pfaster. Sig you wrote a great description of it and really captured it's feel for me. I agree Bowman did a great job with the scene. Could anyone tell what Mulder and Scully said to each other? I thought the exchange was "Did he hurt you?" and she says, "Yes."

I also thought DD was wonderful in the last scene. For most of the ep he seemed off but when he had to deal with what Sculy had done and talk to her about it the peformance was skillfully handled. I thought it was quite a step for them to have yet another secret with Mulder telling he that he'd cover for her crime.

I also had difficulty coming to terms with what Scully did. This ep was rather disturbing. We could say that Scully was out of character and she would never do such a thing but at the same time who knows how anyone would react when pushed this far? It was a shock to see Scully do this. I would really have liked to see a follow up to this and have Scully and Mulder deal with the consequences but you all know CC. Even after monumentous eps it's back to business as usual the following week. :-(

Oh and I thought it was to much of a plot convenience to have Mulder not check his answering machine! Argh! Since when does he go so long without checking his messages? It was nice to see his bathroom though! Remember this when you see an episode later in the season. ;-)
