I think I actually alluded to some of these similarities, either on the shipper forum or in an e-mail to a friend, after "all things" aired. But I wasn't as detailed as you, detoured!
The main point of similarity, IMHO, is that neither DD or GA is all that terribly interested in mytharcs and monsters. They seem more interested in the character development of Mulder and Scully. Why do they work on the X-Files? How do they feel about each other? What events in their past made them the people they are today?
